MPCSD Presents Musical Theatre Summer Camp 2019!!!

Frozen Jr and Jungle Book KIDS, Mulan Jr and  101 Dalmations KIDS!

Welcome, MPCSD families, to our 7th annual summer drama program at Hillview! This year will be structured like last few years into two, two-week sessions, each with two productions: one Jr musical open to incoming 6th graders up to exiting 8th graders, and one KIDS musical for incoming 4th and 5th graders.

Auditions

Frozen JR and Mulan JR- June 18 and 19, 1-3pm

All Frozen JR and Mulan JR Campers who wish to perform must attend both audition days on June 18 and 19, 1-3pm. All auditioners will be cast!

All Jungle Book KIDS and Cinderella KIDS Campers who wish to perform must attend auditions on June 18 and June 19, 10am to noon. All auditioners will be cast!

Campers who wish to focus on backstage do not need to attend auditions!

Donation: The camp is funded completely through parent donation and a small ticket price at the show, $5 per ticket. There is a requested donation of $375 per camper per 2-week session. For example, both shows/sessions, 4 weeks of camp, would be $750. This is an amazing value!!!
Donations pay for hourly wages of: Camp Director, Show Directors and Assistant Directors, Vocal Director, Choreographer, Camp Counselors, Costumes, Set Building Supplies and more.

Daily Schedule and Shows Dates/Times:

Frozen JR  June 24-July 5          SHOW July 5 at 7pm
(excluding July 4)

Jungle Book KIDS June 24-July 5      SHOW July 6 at 2pm

Students bring a lunch and snacks each day. No overly sweet or sugary snacks or drinks, please.

Activity: Each show is a  2-week camp. Each will have a culminating production, fully produced.
Most of our time will be spent creating the productions, but we will also have fun with drama games and improvisation. Performers will rehearse their shows, and crew will build and paint sets, operate sound and light systems, and help with costumes and makeup. In addition, all will play drama, improvisation and role-playing games. See above for show dates.

Auditions

All campers who wish to perform must attend the two audition days on June 18th and 19th, 10-noon for KIDS and 1-3pm JR shows.

Staff: Full time staff: camp director Bill Hairston and an assistant director, four high school camp counselors. Part-time staff: vocal director, tech director, choreographer, additional high-school counselors. Staff to camper ratio will be 17/1.
