The first and most important part of that agreement is that we're here to support each other, both in what we bring to the production and to our peers. That means bringing positivity, creativity, and reliability to our show!
These are the things we want from each other:
Kindness!
You deserve it and so do others
Improving the morale of your fellow students improves the play
Questions!
If you're not sure about something, ask!
Your fellow actors might know the answer
If not, ask a director or other adult
Intelligent actors know there's no such thing as a "stupid" question
Preparation!
Read the schedule
Bring your scripts with you every day
Always be thinking ahead
Am I memorized for the next rehearsal?
If yes, I can try and get a headstart on my other lines!
The most important thing of all in a production is commitment. When you audition, you're stating to the director and your fellow castmates, "I am ready, willing, and able to devote the time and effort required to make this show excellent, and to see it through to the end." So, you need to be aware of the rehearsal schedule and whether you can make your rehearsals and, especially, the shows.
If you miss three rehearsals without letting us know in advance, you will either have to let go of your role or assist the production in another capacity.
We greatly thank you for putting yourself out there and bringing your particular energy to our shows!
